Our studio opened its doors in 2013 under the name Mindful Movements. We are Glen Ellyn’s only locally owned non-heated studio that offers both yoga and pilates all in one space.

Our new name “Balance” was inspired by the yoga guideline “sthira-sukham asanam” that is often translated to simply mean finding balance between “effort” and “ease”.

We help clients discover balance in their bodies and minds through their yoga and pilates practices, so that they can be more at ease in their everyday lives.

Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and certified Pilates Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Pilates instruction, a commitment to promoting health and wellness, and a desire to contribute positively to our studio community. This is a part-time position with flexible hours. We are open to working with newer instructors and we are able to provide an opportunity to work with senior teachers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct group and private Pilates sessions for clients of all skill levels, focusing on proper technique, alignment, and safety.
• Develop personalized Pilates programs tailored to the individual needs and goals of clients.
• Provide clear instruction, guidance, and feedback to clients to facilitate their progress and ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized studio space
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Certification from a reputable Pilates instructor training program
• Previous experience teaching Pilates classes, preferably in a boutique studio setting.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and create a supportive studio environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
• Experience working with special populations (e.g., prenatal, postnatal, seniors, clients with injuries or medical conditions) would be preferred.
